4K Cable Box
I have two non-4K cable boxes. I just got a 4K tv and, via telephone, requested that Xfinity send me a 4K cable box. The box arrived today, but it is the Xi6-A streaming box. Is this what the 4K cable box is? Are live tv channels streamed in 4K rather than through the physical cable coming out of my wall? I don't need a streaming box to watch Netflix, HBO Max, etc. - it's already on my LG tv (and Xbox Series X). Is there any point to having this 4K streaming box?

There are two 4K boxes, the wireless Xi6 you got and the wired XG1v4 DVR. I have two of the DVRs. Xfinity sent me an Xi6 that I sent back because I wanted a wired box with a DVR and six tuners. The Xi6 supports Dolby Vision while the XG1v4 does not.
btw, Comcast has almost no 4K content except for apps like Netflix accessed through the Xfinity box. They have a few sports events in 4K. Everything else is HD.
