3rd Generation fire cube Xfinity cable box

I got 3rd generation fire cube to use with Xfinity cable box because I thought I could change channels on cable box because of “built in Xfinity alexa “ compatibility. After setup I am able to switch from fire tv to cable by saying “go to cable”. But when I try to change cable channels by saying ex. “go to cnn” or “ go to cnn on cable” it says that it can’t or it doesn’t have a skill for it. The fire cube is connected directly to the cable box. I spent an hr on with Alexa support trying to fix the issue without any resolution. They told me that the 2nd generation fire cube could change Xfinity channels and didn’t know why it wasn’t working and directed me to contact Xfinity. I looked for Xfinity skill on Alexa like I was told. Didn’t find an Xfinity skill even when logging in to Alexa app with Xfinity ID. How can I get this 3rd generation fire cube to change cable channels? If it’s true that I can’t, then I’m upset because It’s misleading to advertise  Xfinity cable changing capabilities if it’s not true. I feel that I’ve wasted my money. Please help

I get this same issue on my FireTV Cube (gen 2) it was working perfectly with Xfinity X1 and FireTV Cube showed the cable box in Equipment Control, then I did another Equipment Control reset to adjust my soundbar and now FireTV Cube won't detect the cable box. I have been able to get it to find the cable box by unplugging Xfinity from the network but the thing is [Edited: "Language"] and Amazon needs to put more work into making this work better with cable. I liked being able to use Alexa to change my cable channels and now FireTV can't even detect that a cable box is connected to change input.

Good Morning, I hope all is well. I know it can be frustrating setting up Alexa, I have a couple in my home. If the Fire Cube mentioned that there is a skill that will change channels on your X1 box then what I would do is reach out to the manufacturer of the device to troubleshoot the device and the app together.

The manufacturer? It says xfinity on it. How am I to determine the manufacturer?

 This issue doesn't seem like an Xfinity Issue, it seems to be an issue with the Alexa app or the Fire Cube. You would need to reach out to the Fire Cube manufacturer, please refer to the box it came in or the pamphlet that came with it to get the information for the manufacturer.

I just talked to them and they say it’s an Xfinity issue. I’m just being sent back and forth
