I should make a macro of this answer, heh. For years x1 boxes have a very intermittent problem when a new firmware version is installed in the overnight reboot. the problem is that 'when'/if the problem happens the first startup from reboot does not load the remote control(s) stored parameters etc. After your next overnight reboot or when you power unplug and replug in that set top box from AC power the issue is fixed.

you unplugged the set top box and it didn't reboot and fix it? (not he TV, the set top box for 30+ seconds)
