Xfinity wrongfully sent me to collections over an account that never existed?
When I was making my move, my landlord accidentally gave me a wrong address that I then used with Xfinity to establish service at a new home. Once I realized this mistake (literally a day later), I contacted Xfinity ASAP and apologized, providing the correct address. They assured me that no equipment was sent out and that they updated the error.
Well long story short, I continued to be billed for this address I've never been to and do not reside at for an account that never even had services sent up. After upwards of 25 different calls and chats with xfinity, they finally closed the account. Then, the texts started coming in about how I need to return my equipment, there was a unpaid balance on my account, etc. I reached out for to them again to see what was up and was told to 'ignore it' because it's just automated. Okay great.
Now today I get that text that I've been sent to collections. Over an account that never existed and never had services there. I'm getting ready to sue xfinity for this never ending nightmare and for fraudulently reporting me to a collections agency.
