Name Change

I recently got married and changed my name. I need to update my Xfinity account, but it will only let me update my "preferred name" in the app / not my legal and account name. How do I start that process?

user_650ymp, Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to reach out. Congratulations on becoming a newlywed! I can understand the importance of getting your legal name updated on your XFINITY account. You've reached the right place. We are a team of experts who can help with name changes over social media. We are happy to assist! As a heads-up, you will need to provide proof of the name change by supplying a marriage license with your new name. You may also be asked to pay a deposit or authorize us to perform a credit check. To get started, please send us a direct message with your first/last name and full address. You can start by clicking the "direct message" icon in the upper right page of our forum page. Once you click on that, input our shared handle Xfinity Support to send us a direct message.

@XfinityGabriel Thank you! I sent a direct message and haven't heard anything back. It won't let me select your specific handle (only a Gabriel S). Please advise.

No worries @user_650ymp!  You can certainly try these instructions.

To send a "direct message" / "private message" message to Xfinity Support:
 • Click "Sign In" if necessary
 • Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
 • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
 • As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
 • An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
 • Press Enter to send it
