Moving Out

I have an Xfinity account with my parent’s main account and service, and I recently purchased a new home with Xfinity service and I was wondering if it is possible to take my current Comcast/Xfinity account to myself and have my own service in my own name at my new home.

I do not see any option to do this when ordering the service and equipment online, I think since I need to select “new customer” since my personal Comcast account does not currently have the service plan.  When I select “existing user” it throughs an error when I log in.

Is this sort of request something that needs to be done in an Xfinity Store (I prefer doing this online so I can order service now and delay the start since I do not move in for a few weeks still)?

Hi there @kfg2543 and thank you for your post. We are also happy to see you desire to stay with us at your new home. Congrats on your new place. Are you excited?

Just to make sure I understand correctly, your parents have an account with us, your name is on that account, and you want to know if you can transfer your service to your new home correct?

@XfinityPeterH Yes we have had Comcast for over 18 years now and I made an (@)comcast.net email/account under their account when I was a child.  I would want to be able to start my own service under that same account I have had for years if at all possible, just not sure of the best way of doing that.

@kfg2543 18 years! That is amazing thank you so much to you and your family for continued support. You will need to set up a "New Customer" account but don't worry you will not lose access to the email you had as a child. That email will still be yours, just keep using it. Please let us know if you have any questions.
