I have 2 comcast email accounts and can’t get the second to set up on my Ipad Air. It tells me that the account is not available.

Nothing I have tried has worked.

Here are a few simple steps to try on your iPad Air that can usually help get that second Comcast email account working:

  1. Double-check the login
    Go to xfinity.com in Safari and try logging into the second email account there first. If it doesn’t work, there may be a password or account issue.

  2. Remove and re-add the account manually

  • Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts

  • Tap Add Account > Other > Add Mail Account

  • Enter your name, email and password

  • Use these manual settings:

    • Incoming Mail Server:

      • Host Name: imap.comcast.net

      • Port: 993

      • Use SSL: Yes

    • Outgoing Mail Server:

      • Host Name: smtp.comcast.net

      • Port:587

      • Use SSL: Yes

      • Authentication: Password

  1. Restart your iPad
    A quick reboot can clear out stuck settings or cached errors.

  2. Check for software updates
    Make sure your iPad is running the latest iOS version:
    Settings > General > Software Update
