email help
My Comcast account stopped working on my Mac and IOS a few days ago. It might be because I am in another country, although I have had no issues with my iCloud or google email accounts. I tried deleting them from both devices and re-adding them, but neither device with accept the password which I verified is correct because I can log into my Comcast email account through the Xfinity website using that pw.
How can I add my Comcast account back to the Mail app? Obviously, I don't want to have to log into Xfinity to check one email account and then use the Apple Mail app for all of the others.
Thank you.
And yes, the third party button has been checked.

Hello @user_ls82cd , and thank you for reaching out here on our Xfinity Community forums.
I can understand wanting your Comcast email working alongside your other accounts in Apple Mail, especially since you’re able to sign in successfully through the Xfinity website. Since you’ve already confirmed that third-party access is enabled, there are a few settings worth double-checking.
Xfinity recommends using IMAP when accessing Comcast.net email across multiple devices.
When adding the account back to Apple Mail, verify these settings:
- Incoming server: imap.comcast.net
- Port: 993
- SSL: On
- Outgoing server: smtp.comcast.net
- Port: 587 or 465
- Encryption: TLS, or SSL if TLS isn't available
- Authentication: Your full Comcast.net email address and password
These are the current settings provided by Xfinity Support for third-party email programs.
Since you’ve already checked the third-party access setting, I’d start by confirming Apple Mail is attempting to configure the account using IMAP rather than POP and that the server information above matches.
Xfinity Support recommends IMAP for customers accessing their email from multiple devices because it keeps mail synchronized between them.
Please let us know if this helps.
