email help

We recently recovered an email account that had disappeared for a couple of weeks. Now, our devices are loading 3,000 old emails at a time. It started with the most recent deleted emails and is now back to 2023. We delete from the device inbox, delete from trash, and it immediately starts loading the next oldest 3,000. I have not been able to add that account to my Comcast email on our Xfinity account so that I can try to clean it up from there. So I have two issues. One, loading old, deleted emails, and two, adding that address to my Xfinity account.

Hi @user_ys0jbo,

I'm glad you've decided to visit our community forums support page again. The Add external email accounts — Xfinity Email help article will provide you with detailed instructions on how to add an external email to your comcast account. That should make it easier to manage your email accounts in one place. Can you circle back to let us know if those steps helped?

As for those deleted emails returning, it sounds like you may have previously deleted those emails via a different device. Those emails may have been deleted directly on the other device, but that communication may have not made it to the comcast server. I'd recommend continuing to delete emails via the https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite/ webpage.

Looks like I got it. Once I was able to add the email to our account (I think I put the outgoing server in incorrectly) I was able to clear the inbox of the 84,000+ emails that were in there.

Thanks for the help.
