Changes to Live Video with iOS 14
With the recent release of iOS 14 on Apple devices, you may notice some impacts to your Xfinity Home services.
We use a local network connection to provide the best live video streaming experience when viewing your cameras from home. If you’re an Xfinity Home customer with iOS 14 or above on your device, you may need to manually allow local network permissions for your Xfinity Home app to ensure full functionality of the app.
To enable local network permissions, simply go to your device’s settings, select Privacy then Local Network and tap the toggle for Xfinity Home. You will then be able to watch your camera's live video stream while at home. For more details, check out this article.
Without making this change within your device’s settings, you may experience issues when attempting to access your cameras.
We’re working on making this easier on customers with future app releases, and we appreciate your understanding with this change. Please let us know here if you have any questions or experience any further issues.
Note: This release has also impacted the xFi app. If you’re experiencing issues with xFi, be sure to enable local network permissions for the xFi app as well.
