Why did the universal connectivity charge increase from .68 to $3.18 from April to May?

I was incorrectly charged $10 for the Canada/Mexico calling plan. The agent gave me a $10 credit to address this; however the bill that the charge and credit appears on dated 5/20/22 has higher taxes/fees. The UCC is just one, but it went from about $.70 to over $3 from one month to the next.

I chatted with a Xfinity Mobile representative who couldn't explain if the fees/taxes increased a lot from one month to the next. I asked for a supervisor and was told they aren't available in the evenings. 

Not good service, but hoping someone can explain.

@XfinityDilary​ I did call and discuss with an Xfinity Mobile representative. Unfortunately no one at Xfinity seems to know why the taxes/fees went up when our service went to the lowest possible cost--$15.

I was given a credit to cover the cost and decided to move on. I hope the rate returns to a reasonable and regular amount next month. I would hope your company would do a better job educating representatives on these matters. The answer can't always be--the computer did it. Someone in the company should be familiar with how the fees are calculated. I do believe it has something to do with the inappropriately added Canada/Mexico calling plan that was immediately removed. The computer system would think that I had and used this service for the month as the representative simply gave me a $10 to offset the $10 charge. He was unable to remove the calling plan.

@XfinityDilary​ I got similar issue as well. I'm Xfinity Mobile customer for the almost a year. All is going fine & was adding some new lines to my account (from 4 lines to 10 lines). I noticed that in my last bill the Universal Connectivity Charge was total of $1.78 for the statement (for 6 lines) with dates: May 22 - Jun 22 billing. But my current bill that got has the Universal Connectivity Charge (for 9 lines) as $27.27. Regulatory Recovery Fee is also quite high (increased from around $0.75 to $3.70). Can you please look into this for me?

Thanks for sharing your feedback on this matter, @user_6af2cc. And I am glad we were able to provide a credit to offset the charges. But we still want to make sure your plan works for you and the charges are explained properly. Unfortunately, here on our forums page, we have very limited access to Xfinity Mobile billing concerns. I am sincerely sorry. My recommendation would be to reach out over the phone or via chat once more. I am sure we will be able to turn this experience around.

I’m being charged $432.39 on my bill due on June 29th for a Regulatory Recovery Fee & Universal Connectivity Charge. Im

not sure why this has been added to my account. It makes no sense whatsoever. My bill is always the same every single month. I’m so unhappy at this point.

I paid $5.00 to call from Mexico. I was charged 160.00 dollars. I called twice to complain and was told both times that a mistake had been made and that it would be corrected. It has not been correct and I was charged a connectivity fee of 89.00 dollars.  I am ready to switch my service.
