Samsung LTE watch won't work with xfinity.

I just ordered a Samsung Active2 Watch for my son for Christmas.  NOW I hear that Xfinity does not support it on LTE????  What the heck Xfinity.  Every other mobile service does.  What is your problem????  Do I have to return the Watch?

I chatted with an agent online today and got the stock answer that they are looking into it and will let us all know on their website when that happens.  Non-answer I guess

Sooo, apparently the watches are using the same phone line and same phone number. Its called number share or line share depending on who you ask. A lot of the MVNOs cannot do a number share without the parent network approving it. In this case, Verizon controls which MVNOs can utilize this feature and those who cannot. Verizon, T-Mobile, and ATT all support this feature. After researching the subject, I have found most MVNOs do not support this feature due to extra cost, or just because the parent network wants exclusivity for their customers to prevent everyone from moving over to the many MVNOs. It is good news however, that Xfinity Mobile has the capability to do so with Apple Watch. That is a positive, since they are one of the only Mobile Virtual Netwok Operators out there who do support this. I am feeling confident they can strike a deal with Verizon to enable us to use our 4g galaxy watches in the near future. If you need this feature now, T Mobile is my favorite over ATT. Verizon seems soooooo exspensive. However, their network is the most reliable when coverage is an issue. Just my experience where I live in Florida.

I just purchased the new Samsung Galaxy 3 LTE watch so I'm very interested in Xfinity Mobile's service. Today I saw this website dated July 22, 2020... https://internet-access-guide.com/xfinity-mobile-samsung-watch/?unapproved=43914&moderation-hash=ac2db2a74f972aed6fe16b492edd30bd#comment-43914

It seems very clear that Xfinity mobile is going to support the Samsung Galaxy watch, but I just called and spoke with them and they didn't know anything about it.   If anyone gets to a store and gets it activated, please let us know.

Yes I'm the same boat.(got my sammy galaxy watch 3 yesterday)  See my posts a couple of pages back.  Yes the capability as another user abovenoted is called numbershare.  And since Apple has it why not other watches?

Good information, nice, yet unfortunate discovery. Let's hope.

I just chatted with Xfinity Mobile support and they have no updates, but, considering that was level one support, I'm not surprised.

Xfinity Mobile moderators, care to provide an update? It's closing in on one year since the original post on this topic, so how about a hard date already? Also, will we be able to add the watch just like any phone, where the devices don't increase the cost of the plan or will you saddle us with the same $10/mo. fee as you charge for the Apple Watch, and does that $10 gain us any data capacity or is it just usinging data from our existing plan?

Well folks, Looks like it’s time to Toss sons Samsung & Buy iPhone & Apple Watch! It’s been a year and there is ZERO evidence Xfinity will support Samsung Watches. As I said in beginning of this thread, I got MY 1st iPhone From Xfinity when they FIRST started Mobile Svc. I Suspect they have some sort of Contract with Apple.

Well dangit. Here i am, researching a Christmas gift for my daughter and I find this near-year old thread. This is #2020 indeed. Come on @XfinityMobile, its not rocket science, its pressuring @VZN to release the eSIM for Android. (my guess)

Sounds like they have abandon their customers.
Verizon supports samsung wearables
Xfinity mobile uses Verizon services.
It can be done.
Maybe they could explain to their customer's why they won't allow Samsung lte watches on there platform. Apple can?
