request to collect debt being received after xfinity customer support held my credit card information hostage

Hello,

i requested to cancel my services with xfinity on june 5th, and made it extremely clear to the person on the phone (it's a shame i did it on the phone, because now i don't have a paper trail, but it is also exceptionally difficult to reach a live agent on the xfinity chat) that all of my services needed to be shut off, as I do not use them. I got confirmation of this in an email, which I have saved, and a final bill. I made sure autopay was turned off. And then, over a month later, I got a charge for autopay for an xfinity mobile service that I have never once used, requested to cancel, etc. I tried to tell the xfinity customer service person (i have saved that entire chat and have evidence of it) that the prior person failed to fully complete my cancellation request. They claimed they could not refund me, and tried to credit my xfinity account. I do not want credit on my account for a mistake I did not make. Additionally, this customer service person flat out refused to remove my credit card information from your website. I also couldn't remove my own credit card information, but shouldn't have been charged anyway, since the account was supposed to be closed, and then had to contact my credit card company to remove your authorization from their end. That last part feels truly unacceptable in my opinion. I disputed the charge, because customer service claimed to submit the request but I got no real confirmation of that and I quite frankly do not trust any of you. I am now receiving notice that xfinity is trying to collect on my debt. The charge is in an ongoing dispute with my credit card company. I cannot seem to contact anyone via your support systems who will actually resolve this issue. Is there someone here who can resolve it, or do I need to escalate this issue to the legal department? I am already planning to contact the FCC, but I'd rather go through less channels than needed in order to get this resolved. Thanks!

Hello @user_tgryr9,

Thank you for visiting our community forums support page and detailing your recent experience. I understand how frustrating it can be to having to circle back to something that you thought had been resolved many moons ago. If I may chime in on the issue with your card being removed from the system. Some services like Xfinity mobile do require a card to be on file, our system will prevent the removal of the card if it is the only card on file. This is intended and agreed upon when signing your agreement to participate in the service. With that being said our team would be more than happy to review your account to make sure all has been resolved. Please send our team a direct message with your full name and service address so that we may locate your account.
