Pixel 5 unlocked BYOD incompatible

I bought a Pixel 5 unlocked and inputting the IMEI says it is incompatible. As others have said on Verizon IMEI check it is compatible. Not sure if I should try the Sim swap. Xfinity please support the Pixel 5.

Hello Everyone,

Today, I see the Galaxy S21 now listed for pre-order on XFM. I'm still on the fence on the Pixel 5 or the S21. The S21 has the same screen size as my S8+ but that is not a show stopper going to the slightly smaller P5. My concern is the compatibility. It's suggested here that an unlocked P5 from Google Store will work and is completely compatible. Yet I'm reading other places it is/does not.  Hoping to get confirmation that the P5 does indeed work without issue on XFM. I have four lines I want to upgrade. My service has already been updated to support 5G so now it's just a matter of which G5 device I go with.

Thanks!

My Pixel 5 works great after some initial issues of XM recognizing the new phone, but that was just for the first few weeks after the release date. All features work and XM has the correct phone info on my account now.

My Pixel 5 BYOD is now working fine.  I had some issue getting the December update for a couple of weeks but that is now resolved.  I'm getting 5G coverage and all other features are working well.

I did just swap my existing SIM myself. I don't remember having any issues other than the IMEI number not matching on my account. On my app it eventually gave me a warning that the SIM was swapped and asked if I wanted to pair with the new phone which I did. In my account it still shows my old phone on the device tab but has a link to the new phone when viewing the device details. So everything is correctly hooked up and XM is aware of the new phone but the account details are a bit off.

Thank you both for your prompt replies.

Did you use your existing SIM and were you able to make the swap remotely? I.E., did not have to go into the XFM store?

Cheers ...

I had the same experience as described by @gallon13 with the SIM swap.  I wish the account details in the app showed only my new Pixel 5.  But it is what it is as some like to say.

Hello Everyone,

Day 2 with the Pixel 5. Certainly some getting use to coming from a S8+.

I wanted to share that not only did the P5 show up as being supported with the IMEI checker, the transition was seamless. I simply put the SIM from the S8 into the Pixel, powered it up and followed the onscreen instructions. Connected the two phones together via the provided cable and all my data was moved. In all, it took about 25 minutes, not including the Android, App and Security updates it performed.

One note, once you make the switch, you need log into you XFM account and pair the SIM with the new phone. Just follow the instructions. Took all but 10 minutes. Like reported, the old phone will still show up and all billing is done against the old phone (silly really) and the P5 will show up as a paired device.

All features are working thus far ... Appreciate the prompt feedback. Cheers!

So can you confirm that the Pixel 5 is fully compatible with the Xfinity network? I am looking to buy an unlocked one and would like confirmation that it is supported and working correctly. Thanks.

Because each device model can differ, the best way to check for compatibility would be on our website. Here: https://comca.st/3uN1Ya3 you can enter your device information and if compatible, you can even order your SIM card!

First the tool said that the Pixel 5 was compatible but may be locked by my carrier. Now its telling me its not compatible. Not sure what is going on here. I bought this phone unlocked directly from Google, so there was no carrier prior to my purchase. Any help here?
