Number got changed on changing address, how to get it back?

Hello,

I called Xfinity mobile to change my address from California to Georgia and in the process, the associate created another account within my account (now has two addresses I can switch between). My wife's number is still on my old account address while I was assigned to the new address with a new phone number and my original phone number is "disconnected". I asked him specifically if we will be able to keep our original numbers and he assured me multiple times. Even before I hung up I asked him to confirm both original numbers and he read them back to me.

I need my original number back. I am a doctor and I expect several phone calls from hospital and elsewhere on my number.

Hoping for a fast resolution.

Hi @user_lk98d6. Thank you very much for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. I am unsure if changing regional rate centers would affect being able to keep the cellular number. Have you contacted our Xfinity Mobile team directly who would be the experts on seeing if the phone number can be transferred to the new account?

As you can read on my post, it was xfinity mobile that made that mess. And no changing regions should not affect my ability to keep my phone number. Clearly you have not held a number for 15 years and lost it in a matter of 15 minutes. This so called "xfinity mobile expert" was a clueless person from some other country who clearly misguided me.

Here is what I did, I went to our local xfinity store who laughed at all the mess created by this "expert", and he fixed it all for me. For people who come to this thread, please do not use the phone or chat people. Go to your local xfinity store and save yourself from misery. Xfinity outsources all their calls and their "experts" are clueless.

My apologies for the inconvenience @user_lk98d6

You are able to keep your phone number when moving, and I'm relieved to hear a representative at your local retail store was able to restore your phone number. When you move with Xfinity Mobile, your account is linked to your other Xfinity services (Internet, Voice, or TV). If you change your address, your Xfinity Mobile account will update automatically within one to two weeks. Xfinity Mobile agents can perform a line transfer when your moving out of state which requires a new account to be built for your residential services. This does not change your phone number unless a new one is requested.
