New iphone - cannot add comcast email to Outlook ios app

I use the Outlook ios app for my email on my iphone. On my old iphone 6 with Consumer Cellular I connected with my Comcast email in the Outlook ios app with no issues. I received an iphone 6 with Xfinity mobile as my new carrier, and I can add all my emails from a variety of accounts (icloud, gmail, microsoft 365) but cannot add my primary comcast.net email account. I get the error "Unable to log in - invalid IMAP username and/or password."

I do have trust third party apps checks in the accounts. I've also tried deleting the old devices from Settings > Outlook settings > General > Mobile devices. I checked all the port settings against the https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email page. I've also seen the https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/configure-outlook-2013-email which is only for outlook 2013 on a desktop. I've also seen the page on how to setup Xfinity Email on your iphone, but it's all about Apple Mail, not the Outlook app.

I can setup the email in the native Apple mail account, but I prefer the Outlook app. I can also send and receive email on my laptop, and can log into xfinity.com and see the email for my account online. It's only trying to add the email account in Outlook in the mobile app that I get the error message. I deleted the account under Mail in case this was a conflict for some reason, and restarted my phone.

I'm not sure what else to try.

Hello @user_804ce1 and thank you for your post. Having issues with your email on a new iPhone would be frustrating. I know if I was in your shoes I would be reaching out too. Since you are able to gain access on other devices and only having issues with Outlook it would be best to reach out for help from Outlook.

I am in the same position. It’s really annoying and I’m getting to the point of stopping use of my Comcast email.  I have tried all these tips and it still only works about 20% of the time.

I have four other emails coming into my outlook that NEVER have a problem. This issue is also on my laptop.

@MarciaLF If you are still having issues with your email please send us a direct message with your name and complete service address.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

I no longer work for Comcast.
