Future LTE/Cellular Galaxy Watch Service

Xfinity, What is the likelihood that Xfinity will be able to offer LTE Galaxy Watch support within the next 12 months?  I believe that Xfinity is an MVNO, and most MVNOs are not allowed to offer any LTE watch services.  Perhaps, an exclusive Apple Watch deal exists.  However, I remember when Xfinity only allowed iPhones, and would not comment on Androids.  The same month that I signed a contract with another carrier to use my Galaxy phone, Xfinity allowed new Android Phones.

Would be nice if they would support the Galaxy Watches. Not an Apple fan, and want my Galaxy Watch 4 to be active with cellular.

And why does Xfinity keep closing threads related to this very same question (or providing a single answer which is to contact Xfinity Mobile support, which is not an answer)?

There were several large threads about this same topic that seem to have been deleted since Comcast rebuilt their forum, which is unfortunate because the lack of those deeper conversations might make executives think there is no interest in this, when there clearly is.

Hi, @shdwlynx. We simply do have any official information on android watches at this time. That is the reason we would close anything or not post anything. I myself have inquired as I want to get one and there is nothing I could find. We will always announce ahead of time on any changes.

Thank you XfinityEthan!  This is is the clearest, most helpful answer that I have heard from Xfinity about the subject.  I get that Xfinity cannot discuss some of its negotiations and you will announce if/when you have something to announce.  I do not plan to switch away from Xfinity's excellent pricing.  Instead, If I get a good deal on an Apple Watch or the Watch 8 has beneficial new features, then I will buy the Apple Watch and make my backup phone (an iPhone free from Xfinity) primary.

That us the same answer I've recieved for over a year.  Bottom line, while I've been happy with the pricing and service, I'll be moving my families account to a carrier that does support samsung watches.  This is ridiculous! No straight answers, no support.  Not an apple fan, guess xfinity is best for Apple lovers.

Sacikat- 1st post:

I don't want to go back to Verizon, but I don't want an Apple smartwatch to replace my Galaxy 4 either; so I may have to give up Xfinity, unless there are plans for future servicing of Galaxies.  Please make this happen!

An Xfinity store rep opened and escalated a ticket to help me activate LTE/Cellular service on my Apple Watch.  Perhaps, Xfinity want to optimize its Apple Watch support before working out a deal to support other brands.

Update: The escalation solution was talk to apple.  The former carrier verified that the watch was unlocked.  Apple found no problem with phone and Apple.  Apple also  factory reset the Xfinity iPhone, but the generic we're sorry there is a technical problem error remains.  Interestingly, Verizon and Xfinity confirmed that the Apple watch is compatible.  However, when I use Verizon online IMEI tracker, it does not recognize the watch.  The tracker recognized my old Series 4 IMEI.  Xfinity techs do not know the product or procedures well, but they tried the manual activation.  I found a last resort contact on another page.

Still no Galaxy Watch support? What is this 2007?

Xfinity Executive Team Support mentioned in other posts is the best way to get a quick, knowledgeable response about cellular watches.  Although my watch did not show compatible in the online IMEI check, it is compatible.  The team is working a communication issue and will manually activate the watch at their end.

Apple Watch Activation issue | Xfinity Community Forum

Update: It took five business days for the Escalation Team to fix the communication problem between the watch and Xfinity.  Here is the form that I used to get started.

Yes, please!  I'm a faithful Galaxy owner, have the latest, Watch 4 and 22 Ultra.  All this great technology and I can't add a line to my watch.  So very disappointed!

@user_46928f I have the Galaxy Watch Active 2 (tried the 4 but the battery [Edited: "Language"]) with LTE and am considering switching to another carrier to provide real service. I, like the others, don't care for Apple products and the proprietary hold that they require. Come on Xfinity, step it up to 2022.

Yes, please!  I am a faithful Galaxy fan.  I have the Watch 4 and Galaxy 22 Ultra.  With all this great new technology, I would LOVE to be able to have a cell line on my smartwatch.  Please, please make this change for us.

I wonder if there's a plan to bring in Samsung smartwatch at all.

Is there a "work around" for accepting the Samsung watches? You use Verizon towers can a partnership/pairing ability be made or something so we all can use the LTE feature on our watches?  I believe that could benefit all parties envolved.

(I tried to set my watch up with another carrier, but would have to have another phone number assigned to my watch and even then it won't pair to my phone... so useless)
