Free iPad Scam

I called Xfinity to report an outage to my internet service.  At the conclusion of the conversation, the rep offered a free iPad to compensate me for all the troubles I have been having with Xfinity's services.  I was promised a FREE iPad and an additional monthly credit to my account, for being a LOYAL DIAMOND member.  I asked numerous times if there were ANY charges associated with the iPad and she advised NO.  Well it turns out she was LYING (Shocker).  I now have an Xfinity Mobile line in my name and reoccurring charges every month for the "Free" iPad.  This is in addition to the "Taxes/Fees" charge I had to pay up front to cover the governmental required costs.  Based on the numerous posts for this very same issue, it would appear Xfinity is well aware of the scam/lies their agents are selling, yet they still allow it to happen!

Not good Xfinity - Not good at all!!

Fatskinny I’m very sorry to hear about your experience—that’s definitely not the level of service we aim to provide. I understand how frustrating this must be, especially after being promised a free iPad with no additional charges. Can you initiate a direct message and start with your full name and address? I tried doing that and I gave up!!  I started the chat prior to 1pm and we are now coming up to 4pm and "Thomas" still hasn't verified me!  Are these lengthy chats a plan to deter the client from following through with the complaint and upset them even more?  If so, it worked!!!

Thanks for posting this and I’m sorry you had this experience. I was able to avoid it because I came here first. But it did take me over an hour to try to confirm I was Staying with my original contract.

There are tons of these reports and yet Xfinity does nothing.  Probably

a lot of seniors who don’t even realized they have been taken advantage  of.,  horrible business practice.

I called xfinity 12/23/24 with a problem and of course I couldn’t reach a person. I was sent a link to chat with their assistant, who then promised me a discount and a free iPad! The whole time I felt it was a scam. How in the Hell are we being scammed while dealing directly with Xfinity?

I've been dealing with this same issue for several months. I have been on chats for a combined 11 hours and 3hours phone. and transferred over 60 times (all documented). Still no resolution. I opened a fraud ticket with my credit card company. That seemed to help. But still have the charges on my Comcast bill. If Comcast is reviewing this, I have all of the documentation, including transcripts and ticket numbers, opened by agents.
