FedEx lost my package and now the agent is saying I have to pay for it

Fedex informed me that the phone I order was lost in transit. I told a employee at xfinity mobile what occurred, they said they will have to open investigation and they will get back to me. I called back 20 days the rep now says I am responsible for paying off the phone I did not receive because I did not make a police report. No one ever told me about this and it is crazy that they expect me to pay for something I did not receive. I need help with this, this is unbelievable.

Yes, I called many times. This is extremely frustrating and the way I been treated so far has been very unprofessional.
