emails transition to yahoo

How do i know if the mail I get regarding the transition to Yahoo is authentic?  I am getting messages from [Edited: "possible malicious email"] telling me to click the link below to update now.  Sounds fishy to me.

How do i know if the mail I get regarding the transition to Yahoo is authentic? ...

Check email that claims to be from Comcast/Xfinity with their Connect webmail (https://connect.xfinity.com/) and look for the XFINITY Verified Email logo. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/comcast-verified-email for examples of valid logo placement. A logo in the body of the email does not count.

Unfortunately, AFAIK the logo is not present when you view one of their messages in an email app or program. It's only visible when you use their web email site, and only for email sent to a Comcast.net address.

To report a scam email follow the instructions under the "How do I report phishing email sent to or from a Comcast.net email account?" heading on https://spa.xfinity.com/help/email-abuse?faq=spam-email.

In https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/email/switching-to-yahoo/688f5fd3c3884e34154bc962?commentId=688fe7e1c3884e3415511bfa&replyId=6890c604c3884e3415575eba employee @XfinityAlex stated that 'the option to migrate will come from "updates.xfinity.com".' If an "update" email does not come from that address, it's a scam. Also, "Update" emails that have any sort of "click here or lose your access" link are almost always scams. Do not click!

See https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/email/xfinity-comcastnet-emails-transition-to-yahoo/6883ec0a64c6412424623141?commentId=6887d51b1724e917a036cbcf&replyId=688a7aa41724e917a04fca2a, where employee @XfinityBenny describes the notification process.

I've received a link proportedly from xFinity proportedly telling me to begin my the transition. But the update now link carries me to a zoom site.  I don't think this is correct.  Advice from all is appreciated.

Hello user_zoe0oa, thank you for reaching out in our Xfinity Community forums. We are happy to assist you. Comcast does not send out Zoom links to customers. If you submitted an order, then you would either receive a text or email to allow you to review the order. If you are not aware of any change order made, do not click any links.

Also, for reference, here are some steps to recognize messages from Comcast/Xfinity:

To recognize emails from Xfinity, look for the Xfinity Verified Email logo next to the message in your inbox. This logo indicates that the email is authentic and sent from Xfinity or Comcast, such as bill pay reminders or security updates. Additionally, verified emails will display the Xfinity Verified Email Learn More logo in the upper left of the email body. If you see both logos, you can trust that the email is official and not a phishing attempt.
