XG1v4 recorded shows sometimes skip a few minutes or stop in middle of show and say "sorry we are having technical ...."

I have had nothing but problems with the Xfinity X4 boxes. I am now on my 5th or 6th replaced box this year. This particular box I have only had for a few months and notice that recorded shows appear to be the issue. Sometimes the shows record as scheduled and have no problems. On other occasions the recorded show will pixelate for a few seconds or skip part of the show or a message stating that there is a problem and to be patient while the issue is being corrected.  All the other boxes that were replaced did not experience recording issues.

Sounds like you may have weak or noisy signal issues. You can do a quick test by tuning into the problem channel, then going to the Xfinity menu and going to Comcast Labs. There is a simple signal level check there. There is a more technical diagnostics screen, but it's hard to use and tell which channel is bad for X1.

@andyross Thanks for the suggestion. I am familiar with the signal level check and checked my signal once again on the 3 national networks.  Each channel came in as good with 5 green bars (not sure if the green bars ever change).

Good Morning! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out here and bring the recording troubles you're experiencing to our attention!
I know I myself, frequently use the recording function on my TV and would be in quite the jam myself if my toddlers Paw Patrol wasn't recording properly!
Rest assured, you've come to the right place to get to the bottom of this!
I see you'd mentioned that you'd previously checked the signal levels on the box, which is a great start to our troubleshooting here today!
Additionally we have some great troubleshooting resources available onlline at https://comca.st/3KudFJL as well as through our Xfinity My Account application! But no need to worry if you'd not gotten a chance to check either of those out yet, we're still here to assist!
With that said, may I ask to confirm, is this happening with all recordings that take place on the box, or have you noticed whether or not it's specific to a particular show, or channel?
