Paramount Plus Doesn't Work On Cable Box

I was trying to watch Star Trek Discovery, but it's impossible. The show stops then starts every few seconds, maybe letting me watch a minute or two and then stopping and starting. After the all day outage today, when the cable came back on, we tried to watch the show. It worked just about perfect for 3 or 4 episodes, but then started acting stupid again. I'll get a firestick if I have to, but it's rather inconvienient. Netflix works fine, as does youtube and every other app we try. It's just Paramount Plus that's the problem. Don't know what's going on, but Paramount Plus works fine on my laptop...which doesn't make sense seeing as the signal is going through the same equipment.
