On Demand wants me upgrade to HD

Once again comcast playing games to make us pay more money. I am tying to watch the Young and Restless with on Demand but I can't unless I upgrade to HD. This is so wrong. Comcast does this to me often.  I am so over these games. This is the worse company.

Totally agree, on demand is part of the service I already pay for. It's not fair that I can't watch what I want, when I want. I also think it's unfair that I have to keep paying for the box rental when I have paid for 3 years.  There is no way it costs $468 ($13.00/36months) for that box. after this amount of time the fee should be dropped. It's not like the company doesn't make enough money. Give your customers a break once in a while, it's expensive enough each month. Personally I can't afford HD service.

my mother is getting the same message when trying to watch on demand. She’s 81 years old, housebound most of the time,
And all the sudden this message pops up. Does anybody know why?

Re shows in HD:  If the show has been On Demand in both HD and SD in the past, and all of a sudden an episode is only available in HD (meaning the screen says you have to upgrade to HD to watch that episode), then it may be that when that episode was posted it was mistakenly posted only in HD.  In that case, you need to bring it to the attention of Comcast and ask them to post that episode also in SD like prior episodes.  It could be also that all of a sudden the network posting that show On Demand is only providing the episodes in HD.  This is unlikely if the show can be watched "live" (meaning when it airs on TV) in SD.  Good luck!

I believe this is low-class EXTORTION... We are a hardworking family and our monthly Comcast bill is already VERY HIGH, so we opted-out of the high-definition option (around $11 a month) and we could see everything fine, but it seems that the big-giant multi-trillion dollar company Comcast is upset that we are not paying this extra monthly fee, so they purposely harass us by letting us watch a silly TV series like "The Lodge" on AMC" and after watching the first episode and wanting to watch the second... we suddenly get a message "that we have to upgrade to HD to watch this program," BUT WE HAVE ALREADY WATCHED IT!!! And tthis is now happeneing on a number of other TV Series... and I feel like we are being targeted... it's VERY FRUSTRATING and it makes me very upset that Comcast would purposely do this for an extra $11 a month, BUT THEY ARE.... This is a horrible way to treat a paying customer I am now looking into hiring a lawyer and also looking into getting our service from CenturyLink
