Text Messaging RCS not Working

In the last week RCS stopped working. I have rebooted the phone, turned RCS off then back on, updated Messages. How can this be fixed?

Yes it is still happening, last attempt Oct 19 at 5:03 am

Okay thanks for letting us know!  Are you able to try re-registering RCS and clear related app data? If you haven't already please follow these steps:

  1. Disable RCS in Google Messages (Profile icon > Messages settings > RCS chats > Turn off).
  2. Clear Google Play Services cache: Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > Storage > Clear cache; then Force stop.
  3. Clear Google Messages data: Settings > Apps > Google Messages > Storage > Clear storage/data; then Force stop.
  4. Restart device, wait ~5 minutes, re-enable RCS in Google Messages and send a test message.
