Access Denied to Xfinitywifi

Hello,

Up to recently, I have been able to switch on and off of "xfinitywifi" hotspot, since I like to use it while at work. However, recently, i've been getting "access denied" messages and am unable to use it anymore. I have been able to solve this by using the app for "xfinitymobile" on my phone, but I can't do that for my laptop. It is hard when I am traveling to somewhere with spotty wifi, but can't use the xfinitywifi hotspot all of a sudden.

I have tried forgetting the network, kicking devices off of the "connected devices" of the hotspot list, and then logging in again. However, all to no avail, all methods still result in a "access denied" page.

Why is this? Is there anything for me to do about this?

Hey there, @user_oynult, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your hotspot issue. I appreciate you sharing the troubleshooting you've already completed. Since you've already forgotten the network, removed devices, and attempted to sign back in, let's look a little deeper.

When you receive the "Access Denied" message on your laptop, are you being redirected to the Xfinity sign-in page, or does the error appear immediately after connecting to xfinitywifi? Also, does the issue occur at multiple hotspot locations or only at a specific one?

If you haven't already, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies or opening an InPrivate/Incognito window before connecting to the hotspot again, as stale authentication data can sometimes cause sign-in issues. Have you had a chance to test your laptop on more than one xfinitywifi hotspot to see if the behavior is the same everywhere?
