- Add Shield Select and order any additional equipment you may want.
- Once your internet service is active, and your equipment has arrived, head to the Xfinity app for step-by-step instructions on how to activate equipment, turn on features, and more. You'll see Shield listed under the Home tab.
- Follow the guided setup for the included indoor camera and door/window sensor, they're designed for easy self-setup right out of the box, with step-by-step installation instructions in the Xfinity app.

Who can get Shield Select?
Shield Select is available to all Xfinity Internet customers, as long as you have a compatible Xfinity Gateway.
What's included in the box?
Each Shield Select order includes a Shield Select setup booklet to support customer activation and onboarding. The service includes 1 indoor camera and 1 door/window sensor.

How can I monitor my cameras, sensors, and smart home devices?
You can view Shield Select devices and activity, plus manage your settings all in the Xfinity app. In the app's Home tab, you can view live camera feeds, review recorded footage, check sensor activity, monitor WiFi Motion alerts, and manage your home's modes from anywhere.

Does Shield Select include a camera?
Yes, Shield Select comes with one indoor camera and one door/window sensor. The camera and sensor are designed for easy self-setup right out of the box, with step-by-step installation instructions in the Xfinity app. Optional professional installation is also available.
If Shield Select is canceled before 36 months, you will be charged the remaining balance for the included indoor camera and window/door sensor.
Does the included camera record video footage?
Yes. With Shield Select, the included indoor camera supports 24/7 recording with 7 days of secure cloud storage, so you can review footage anytime within that 7-day window. The camera also features alerts that summarize activity, saving you time looking through video footage. You can view your live feed and recorded clips in the Xfinity app.
Can I add a video doorbell or smart lock to Shield Select?
Yes. Shield Select works with a range of compatible cameras, smart locks, and more from Xfinity and other popular brands — so you can customize your home to your needs. Explore compatible equipment
Does Shield Select include professionally monitored home security?
No, it does not include professionally monitored home security. Shield Select includes 24/7 Urgent Response. This means if something is detected through your connected devices, you'll be notified in the app and you can easily connect with a certified professional with just a tap. Shield Select is designed as an affordable, intuitive alternative to traditional home security — without the complexity and higher cost of a full alarm system. It does not include 24/7 professional monitoring with automated emergency dispatch, which is a feature available in Xfinity Home Security.

What if I don't see Shield listed in the Xfinity app?
Once your internet service is active, head to the Xfinity app for step-by-step instructions. You'll see Shield listed under the Home tab. If you don't see it, confirm your Gateway is XB8 or above. If you do not have a compatible Xfinity Gateway one will be provided.
What if I want professional installation instead of self-setup?
Optional professional installation is available for the included camera and door/window sensor with applicable fees.
What if I'm not getting camera or sensor alerts?
You can view Shield Select devices and activity plus manage your settings all in the Xfinity app. In the app's Home tab, view live camera feeds, review recorded footage, check sensor activity, monitor WiFi Motion alerts, and manage your home's modes. You can also use Dark Watch to choose which devices send alerts at night and receive camera and door/window sensor alerts.
