No dial tone after new modem installed.

Phone worked before but not after.  Plug a phone into the back of the modem phone port.  No dial tone.  Call Xfinity talk to live agent and tell them to turn your 

phone line on.  Be persistent took me three days to finally get someone to fix it right.  Don't need a Service Technician.  Can be fixed over the phone.  Good luck Bob

Update: turns out they disconnected my landline service when they sold me the new modem. Saying that since I was a loyal customer they had a deal for faster internet. But to make the price appealing, they left out Voice without saying so. So I lost the deal pricing I had on Voice; and to reactivate my bill would go up by $30 even if I reverted to slower internet.

Don't know what plan you have.  We rent our modem from xfinity and our landline is bundled in.  I was told if I  canceled my landline my monthly would increase.

Have restarted modem, tries both tel plugs, refreshed, plugged phone directly at Port and still not working.  For new modem on 06feb25 and phone was working before activation

Set up modem as noted on paperwork in box modem came in. After plugging phone  into the phone port , still no dial tone xfinity must turn on your phone #. Modem powers up phone system.  Talk or text to live agent only.  It will take you a few agents to get the right one.  Good luck.
