New Customer - Internet/Home Phone Port this week. Got a call from [Edited] regarding number port. Is this legit?

I got a call on my home phone which is to be ported to XFinity tomorrow. I'm asked to call [Edited: "Unverified Phone Number"].

Is that legit? I can't find that number on your website.  I'm thinking this is a scammer, but I don't want to delay the install.

Please help,

it called again.  I called back. It's an automated process for third party identification.  Tells me I'm at risk of losing my number if I don't respond.

I identified myself via my account number and it recognized.  Then it errored out. [Edited: "Profanity"]

can anyone from XFinity read and respond.
