My Xfinity Voice/Phone service does not work after Gateway Upgrade - no dial tone

I just activated my new Xfinity Gateway upgrade (model # XB6-T) this morning and now I have no voice/phone service. It took two hours working with one of your live chat agents to get the internet on this new gateway to work as I cannot use your app to activate. It turned out it has a defective ethernet port. The other port works so the internet is now working, but the phone service is not working. The live chat agent said your technicians would send signals to the phone to activate it and it would take about 40-60 minutes, but it's been over two hours and nothing yet. I'm starting to think the phone jack ports are defective as I've tried both but I don't really know. My phone and voice service worked fine this morning with my old gateway.

EDIT: Day 2 and I still do not have xfinity voice service. I restarted the new gateway and that did not fix the issue. Still no dial tone and I cannot make or receive calls. I have tried both phone jacks as well. I have counted about 10 posts on this forum having the same issue as I am, but I am not receiving any help thus far.

EDIT-2: Never mind. One of your live agents named Riya fixed the issue for me. I had something to do with the MTA MAC Address being wrong on the device. The voice service works now.

Thanks.

I had the same experience as the above user. My Gateway is going back as the phone didn't work on either jack. The "set up voice feature only popped up after I had already reinstalled my old Gateway. No Tech Support, No Human to talk to at Xfinity unless you go to one of their stores.

Typically the activation of gateway with phone services will have a 24-hour activation period. This is called provisioning, In a traditional telecommunications environment, there are three types of provisioning: circuit provisioning, service provisioning, and then switch provisioning.
