That cable includes a filter intended for use with DSL service. Comcast/Xfinity's Voice service is not DSL and does not need such filters. A plain copper wire cable will do just fine.

I am sorry to hear about the issue you are having with the dial tone on the phone line you just added, but you have come to the right place for assistance with this issue. You mentioned that you just added the phone line, so I have a few questions. How many days ago was the phone line added, and was the phone number brand-new, or a number being ported from another carrier?
