How to recieve phone calls when service is being transferred to new home?

I am about to move to a new apartment and will be transferring my Xfinity Internet and voice services. Will my phone calls still come through while the service is in transition?  Can you tell me if I need to set call forwarding so I won't lose any phone calls? Thanks for your help with this question...

Hi there! Typically, if the service at the old location has been disconnected, you will not start receiving calls again until the service has been activated at the new location. So there's no need for call forwarding! We hope this helps. Please let us know if we can assist you further!

We moved from a location that Xfinity serviced to a rural location not serviced by Xfinity. We are told that we cannot get our previous land line calls forwarded to our cell phone. Is that correct?

Congratulations on the move, @jetplane. I hope your move has been as stress-free as possible. We can request a referral message up to 30 days out from the date of your disconnection. The message would refer callers to a number of your choosing so they know how to reach you.

If you are within the 30-day window please send us a private chat message with your full name and service address to Xfinity Support so we can set this up for you.

To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.
Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:
 • Click "Sign In" if necessary
 • Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon (upper right corner of this page)
 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
 • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
 • Press Enter to send your message
