Persistent Incorrect Call Blocking
I am writing to request assistance with a recurring problem involving my Xfinity home phone service. For years, the spam‑blocking feature has worked well and has saved me a great deal of trouble. However, in recent weeks it has begun blocking legitimate calls that I rely on — including my auto repair shop, an auto body shop, my dentist, my veterinary hospital, and even my next‑door neighbor. All of these calls were labeled “low spam risk” and blocked automatically, despite the fact that these numbers have been able to reach me without an issue for a long time.
Each time this happens, I have no way to know that a call was blocked until I discover the missed communication later. I then have to call Xfinity support, explain the situation, and wait while the agent consults another department. Then I’m told it will take 24 hours for the number to be unblocked. This cycle has repeated several times now.
The core issue is that I have no ability to unblock numbers myself, even though I can easily add numbers to the block list. This creates unnecessary inconvenience and makes my home phone service unreliable for essential communications.
Please tell me how this problem can be corrected.
