Any way to do selective/whitelist call screening?

Is there any way to screen calls against some sort of contact list (whitelist) so that any calls not on the contact list/whitelist either get sent straight to voicemail (or nomorobo) and only calls that are on the contact list (or "approved caller list" or whitelist)  ring through?

I currently get so many spam calls, despite using nomorobo, because of the spammer's use of spoofed caller ID.

@Lsimon Good afternoon! Thank you for reaching out to our Community Forums Team for assistance with your spam calls. I know the feeling with getting annoying calls, I have a landline myself. I'm happy to help get you in the right direction. Since you are already using nomorobo, I have included some steps below to try. Please let me know if you were able to get in, and make the adjustments to your settings.

https://login.xfinity.com/

Click on the voice tab, >Settings, >Call Blocking, <Spam Blocker.
There will be default settings. I would recommend checking what you have your Medium Risk calls set to.

-High Spam Risk calls will be blocked.
Blocked calls will not have the ability to leave a voicemail.
No call notification will be sent.

-Medium Spam Risk calls will be sent to voicemail.
Calls sent to voicemail will not ring.

-Low Spam Risk calls will be allowed.
Risk label will be displayed with incoming notification

I already have my spam blocker settings set as you advised.  The problem is that in recent year or two the spammers have become aware of this and use a different spoofed caller ID every time they call - usually with the same area code as us.    We even get spoofed calls that somehow have the so called "verified" "[V]" as part of the caller ID so they've figured out a hack for that.

The only solution I can see is to either bear with all the junk calls (usually between a couple and a dozen a day) or find some sort of system that sends all calls not on a whitelist to voicemail.

The tough part is that we cannot control the amount of number changes they use when calling out. I get a bunch of calls myself and deal with the same issue. There are always those that get through. I'm sorry, I wish there were more we could do in this situation.

I agree. There should be a “white list” option available. Block all calls except those numbers listed in white list. I am having the same bproblens with all the spam filters and other options set at maximum blocking .

please help.

I have an elderly parent who is getting spam calls almost daily.  I put the settings as high as it will go and it blocks a lot of spam calls but, still, some of the calls are getting through.  Every week I have the same conversation with my parent about checking the Caller ID first before picking up, but it's too much trouble for them.  Also, elderly people are worried about letting a call go unanswered.   I try to log in everyday to their account to manually block numbers that are getting thru, but this is like playing whack-o-mole, as the spammers are wise to this and simply spoof the numbers.   Yesterday, my elderly parent told me they answered a call, without checking caller ID, and a lady was asking for her social security number.  My parent had the sense to hang up and not give out that info.  So, it does no good to lecture an elderly person, they're going to do it anyway despite your warnings.  With all the technology available today, there must be a way to "white list" numbers that will ring thru to your elderly parent and reject all other numbers not on the list.  Comcast, please develop something to fight back in this never ending war.
