@user_05x30j Just an FYI....

Direct messaging isn't allowed until an official employee asks you to do so; it's against the Forum Guidelines and the Acceptable Use Policy to send anyone an unrequested DM/PM.  Also note, if you do send one without being asked to do so, it could possibly be ignored.

Please post your issue in public in the proper forum so that it can be addressed either by other customers or by an Official Employee.

Outlook 365 Email is again not connecting to Comcast Email Servers.

Yesterday I worked with Comcast Team members in trouble shooting this connection issue.  I was receiving this error message:

Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for [Edited: "Personal Information"] reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for [Edited: "Personal Information"]. Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

All of my imap settings are as Comcast recommends.  Then, Comcast Team members suggested to reset my password.  Once I reset my Comcast Email password my mail began to update.  My email worked properly until 6:58 PM last night.  My Spouses Outlook 365 email also stopped updating at about the same time last night.

This morning My and My Spouses Outlook 365 email is still not updating.

What could be the issue?

Please help...

@user_05x30j  We are so sorry to hear that your Outlook 365 connection to your Comcast email has dropped again, especially after all the troubleshooting you did yesterday! It is very frustrating when an immediate fix doesn't last.

Since both your and your spouse's email stopped working around the same time, this strongly suggests an issue with the password/security token refresh in Outlook.

Here is what likely fixed it yesterday and should fix it now:

  1. Reset your Comcast Password again. Even if it seems redundant, doing this often forces a full security sync.

  2. IMMEDIATELY enter the newly reset password into both your and your spouse's Outlook 365 settings, ensuring the password field is completely up-to-date.

This often resolves intermittent connection errors like 0x800CCC0E. Please let us know if the issue returns!

Changing passwords does NOT fix the issue.  Tried doing so for multiple accounts and every single one still has the synch problem.  It's unbelievable that such an important part of this service isn't being pushed to the forefront for a fix.

Hello, I have changed my Comcast email password and my Outlook 365 email will still not connect to the Comcast Servers.  I then changed my Comcast email password to a totally different password.  My Outlook 365 will still not connect to the Comcast Servers.  And now my Iphone mail will not connect to the Comcast Servers...On my Iphone I am getting the following message:  Server code:  "Alert",server message "Temporarily blacklisted IP Address - Try again latter.

Please Help...

@user_05x30j I'm sorry to see we are back in a similar place as yesterday. On the iphone have you been able to update the password in the mail settings on that device?

For outlook, did you need to make any other changes to the settings for the incoming or outgoing servers?

  • Incoming Mail Server Name: imap.comcast.net
    • Incoming Mail Server Port Number: 993 with SSL ON
  • If the Mail Client lets you select an authentication method, choose STARTTLS.
    • If Needed: 143 with SSL ON
  • Outgoing Mail Server Name: smtp.comcast.net
  • Outgoing Mail Server Port Number: 587 (SMTP)
    • If Needed: 465 (SMTPS)
  • Encryption: TLS (use SSL if TLS isn't shown.)
  • Authentication: Type in your Comcast.net email address

Hello Paula,

I was able to update my Comcast email password on my iPhone and now I am receiving my Comcast Emails on my iPhone.

I made the suggested changes above, but my Outlook 365 Email will not communicate with the Comcast Servers.

What changed Monday evening, on the Comcast email servers, that caused both my and my spouses Outlook 365 email to loose the ability to communicate with them?

Please Help...
