My account doesn't have access to private chat to submit request re gigabit pro

I am a Comcast gigabit subscriber. I logged in with my Comcast credentials. I have been trying to get to private messaging since @XfinityJennifer and others recommend that to submit gigabit pro account check requests, but my account doesn't have the private message icon in the top right corner. Any ideas?

@Dogmatix

As mentioned by user BruceW, we ask that you please start by posting your request in the most appropriate public forum board first. If our team needs a direct message from you they will ask you to send it on your public post once they are ready to assist you. Please refrain from sending an unsolicited direct message to any employee or user, as that is a violation of our Xfinity Forum Guidelines (shared by BruceW) and our Xfinity Forum Acceptable Use policy (found here: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/guidelines/xfinity-forum-acceptable-use-policy/602d9c64c5375f08cd574236). Although we would never want to get to that point with any user, violations to our posted guidelines could result in a revocation of a user's Xfinity Forum posting privledges. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

TURNS OUT...once you post a public message, private messaging icon appears in top right hand corner of screen (just to the left of the bell)

... I have been trying to get to private messaging ...

The Direct Messaging icon doesn't appear until you have made your first post. You should be able to see it now as long as you are logged in to the Forums.

Using "Direct Messaging" before you have been asked to do so is considered a violation of the Forum AUP. See https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/guidelines/xfinity-forum-acceptable-use-policy/602d9c64c5375f08cd574236.

Please post a general description of your question or problem, leaving out any personal information. If an Employee needs personal information, they'll ask you to send it in a DM.
