Hello user_c536e1! Thank you for taking the time to reach out and being part of the Xfinity family. That's definitely a communication error. Can you double check to make sure all the cables coming to and from the Flex box and modem are finger tight?

Did you visit the url on the screen?  That error means the device is not on you account properly and needs to be added.  An agents need to add it for you.

I don't believe you are actually going to do this for me, and I'm sure many others, I have been grateful to your corporation since I began, until this mess , a "keystroke" to make us poor folk feel cared for, thank you, Bill Battee
