Yahoo email migration optional

On Reddit there is post that says the migration to Yahoo email service is now optional.

Is this true?

If so, how does one accept this option?

FYI

Just in case the migration continues I have already changed my email address at my Financial Institutions, Creditors, Government sites and the like.

I have not asked those in my address book to update to my Gmail address yet.

This is will just insure that if there are glitches I will still be able to access the most important sites.

No use in taking any chances.

Do we have to sign up for a Disney account for this? Also, what if we already have a Yahoo eMail address. Do we use the current one we have or do we have to create another one?

No. Why would we? The transition involves Comcast and Yahoo. Disney is not a part of either one.

Any existing Yahoo accounts are not a part of the transition. Your Comcast.net email address will remain the same, but it will be "moved" to Yahoo's servers. What's changing is where you log in to use the address. Instead of a Comcast/Xfinity page, you'll need to sign in to login.yahoo.com. And if you have any email programs or apps that are using Comcast.net servers, you'll need to change them to use Yahoo servers. See:

When asked to enter your email address or username, be sure to use your complete email address ending in "@comcast.net".

It is a pity that Comcast/Xfinity hasn't bothered created a detailed walkthrough of the process.

I inadvertently switched to Yahoo, and it is horrible.  The size of the text screen, the inability to erase junk, the slow speed...all of it is user unfriendly.  I don't understand how Xfinity could pass this off as an upgrade.

Don't do it!  It's the worst.  As soon as I saw the Yahoo format, I asked Comcast to change it back and was told that my mistake was irrevocable.  Most other services allow consumers to change their minds if done quickly.  Not Xfinity.  It probably is illegal, but who has the time and money to fight it?
