Xfinity comcast.net emails transition to Yahoo

Can you check to see if I got an email about transitioning my comcast mail to yahoo....think some emails were deleted on me.

Did you check the Trash in webmail?  Are you checking email in webmail to make sure you get the official notice?  The email will have the official Xfinity logo next to it.  That looks like this:

There are multiple emails for my account as well.

Each address will receive the email regarding the transition, so all can be moved, but maybe not at the same time.

Make sure that each email address gets the official notice from Comcast; those will have the verified logo next to them when seen in webmail.

I read xfinity’s online document shown below from their web site

These two items near the top of the page seem to directly contradict each other.    

I’d like to know if I will still have my current comcast.net email address after the move.

And I think Xfinity needs to change the wording or at least why the statements contradict each other.

Xfinity Mail when you make the move — including your current comcast.net email address, messages, folders, and contacts.

From paragraph 3 of the web page shown above:  Note: Moving to Yahoo Mail will only impact your comcast.net email address. None of your other Comcast services will be impacted.

I don't see how they contradict each other.  Both state that your comcast.net email is moving to Yahoo! Mail and that move won't impact any of your other Comcast services.  Your second highlight emphasizes that point.

It outlines the features you have now in comcast.net email, and only impacts your email and none of your Comcast account outside of email.

I was traveling and had Xfinity email issues to work on.  I am just learning about migrating Xfinity emails to Yahoo mail.  The instructions on how to migrate indicate the following:  "To move your Comcast.net email account to Yahoo Mail, just accept Yahoo’s terms of service and privacy policy when prompted."

This may be an "obvious" question, but where to I even find accepting Yahoo's terms of service when prompted?  Do I go somewhere on my Xfinity account?  If so, where do I find it so I can transition to Yahoo mail.

If it's somewhere on the Yahoo mail sign-up, how do I note that I want to create an account to allow my Xfinity emails to Yahoo mail?  If so, please note I have a Yahoo mail account, but I rarely use it.  Would I migrate starting there or create a new Yahoo mail account just for Xfinity emails?

Can someone please let me know the exacts steps and where to go to get this process started?

Will I keep my Comcast.net email address if I move to Yahoo Mail?
Yes. If you accept the Yahoo terms of service and privacy policy, you will keep your current email address at the time of the move and continue to send and receive emails using your Comcast.net email address through the Yahoo Mail platform.

I posted that sentence originally, but also posted this sentence from the following paragraph on the same web page.

Other than CHANGING my email address, how would it IMPACT it?

@UBoot   It will be hosted on a yahoo email server, under the terms and conditions of yahoo. And if you don't accept those terms, then it goes away.

If you use webmail, you will be switching to yahoo's webmail, and if you use an email client, you will need to re-point the client from comcast's server to yahoo.  Things like spam handling are likely to be somewhat different. I would think those could be counted as "impacts".  

I think more broadly, the purpose of that statement is to reassure people that other comcast services are not changing - just the email.  It might have been more clear if they left the word "address" off the end of that sentence.

To make sure any email from Xfinity is legit, look for the Verified email logo in the message list when using the webmail UI--------------

Verified Email

After the first email telling you the process has begun for your account, there will be another after 30 days.  The information being posted in this thread also appears on the Yahoo website-----------------
