I'm having difficulty accessing my emails, and they are coming in very slow if at all?  I am very frustrated with no "customer service" and we pay a good amount but not receiving service!

Hello, user_wfeia4, thanks so much for adding your voice to the conversation here on our Xfinity Forums!  How are you currently accessing your Comcast.net email? Are you using a third-party program such as Outlook, Apple Mail, or Thunderbird?  Are you regularly logging into the email, or has it been a while since you have?

I have no advice. I have adapted to Yahoo and pay to keep the zillions of ads they force on you:(

Does everyone realize that Comcast is just another provider to migrate their email to Yahoo and get out of the email hosting business? AOL, Cox and Verizon have already moved their customers to Yahoo and users retained their email addresses just like Comcast users can. NOT making excuses but its so much of a moot point that we keep complaining and I am one of them and also one who is fighting the migration but I know I will have to. I will be using Outlook once I migrate to avoid the disastrous ad/spam filled mess that is Yahoo itself. I have always had a Yahoo acct for superfluous emails and never did like it. I spend more time cleaning out the ads and spam mess than I ever thought possible and sure not going to do that in the future to get to my 'real' mail.  I have Outlook as part of MS Office and its a very friendly option filled program and that will be my main email program using my Comcast id of course just like I do today. Ok...rant over

Did not know that about the migration.  I do miss my comcast email, it was easy to delete unwanted emails but with Yahoo everything is so cluttered.  I swipe to delete an email and of course here comes a pop-up about upgrading to a paid service. This makes me not want to go into my email, but alas you have.

Use a third party email app like Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple/Mac Mail.

You could instead try using something like AdblockPlus-------run a search for it.  It's available for all the major browsers as an extension, and it's free.

I turned off AdBlock and suddenly the crashes and slow speeds and the hangups in Yahoo stopped.  Yahoo WANTS you to see the ads. Yahoo is evil. They also won't let you turn off the adds they load unless you PAY them. Creating a need where there was none. Comcast should be ashamed forcing us to switch. I'll take my 101 dollars a month to another service. In a big city you can find something else that doesn't annoy you.

Be careful what alternative you search for. AOL, Verizon and Cox have already migrated their email customers to Yahoo. Just sayin!

user_rvu7yw, Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. I can understand why you'd feel frustrated. It sounds like you've experienced a significant difference in performance after the change, and that's certainly not the experience you were hoping for. You've come to the right team of experts to assist over social media. It seems that disabling AdBlock may have resolved issues with crashes, slow speeds, and hangups in Yahoo Mail. AdBlock can sometimes interfere with the functionality of web applications, including email services. By turning it off, you may have allowed Yahoo Mail to load and operate more smoothly, eliminating the performance problems you were experiencing. If you continue to face issues, consider troubleshooting your computer or checking for updates to your browser and operating system, as these can also impact performance.

We also appreciate you sharing your feedback regarding the email transition and the impact it's had on your day-to-day use. We never want customers to feel like they're being forced into a solution that doesn't meet their needs or expectations. Is there anything specific about your Xfinity service we can help with? Please let us know. We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns.

Add Spectrum to that.  And AT&T, I believe.

In just a matter of weeks or months - there isn't going to BE any Xfinity email.  Even if you could go back right now, you would STILL have to then pick someone else, like Gmail or Hotmail, and just MOVE AGAIN.  So, why would you want to go thru that many moves?  If you dislike Yahoo so much that you are willing to give up your Comcast.net email address, pick a different provider and move DIRECTLY to them.

Please cite an authoritative source for this claim.

Xfinity.  It is the very REASON we have to choose another carrier.   That is what this WHOLE conversation is about.

Can you cite an Xfinity source for the claim that "In just a matter of weeks or months - there isn't going to BE any Xfinity email"? AFAIK they have not said that.

I initially did a copy and paste here from that source, which was from Xfinity.  But then, I deleted it after researching further (due to your level of concern & insistence) as I found that Xfinity has now since CHANGED their stance.  It is still fuzzy information, even their employees can't give absolute answers, but apparently you CAN stay with Xfinity.  But no one at Xfinity can say if, when down the road they may shut it off completely, that those accounts would be able to move (to Yahoo, etc.) and maintain their Comcast.net email addresses as we could right now by moving to Yahoo.  Myself, I cannot lose that address due to how much it is ingrained in everything I do.  But I also cannot risk just moving to Yahoo now because of various issues I read about happening that would also cause a big loss.  So here we are.

Thanks for challenging me, BruceW.

So if it is possible now to stay with Xfinity, then it should be possible to move those of us unhappy with the Yahoo experience back to Xfinity... Does anyone have a decision-maker contact at corporate?

The move to Yahoo has NOT been cancelled. It will happen because Xfinity is getting out of the email business. This has been stated over and over in the forums by the experts. We can keep what we have for now but its just a delay....not a cancellation for those who have not migrated yet.  AT&T, Spectrum, AOL, Verizon, Cox  have done the exact same migration to Yahoo. Seems all the carriers are getting out of the email business.

I really wish people would stop saying that its not going to happen. Its false hope and makes others want to know why they cannot return to Comcast from Yahoo. I will migrate kicking and screaming when I am forced to  but will cherish every moment I have left as a Comcast email customer.

The current information about the subject is here-------------

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/yahoo-email-migration-overview

Pay close attention to the first paragraph, and then scroll down to Do I have to upgrade my comcast.net email account to Yahoo Mail?

Notice that they don't really answer the question.  There is no known end-date yet.  But it will happen at some point down the road.

And Yahoo is posting the same information about 2025-2026 on their website.  It's the first question in their FAQ-------------------------

People are getting the wrong impression they can stay with comcast as an email provider and keep their comcast.net email with comcast forever and NOT have to move to yahoo. I'm not sure how this rumor spread but someone needs to quantify it for the users who think this is not a done deal because no matter how much we hate it it's a done deal and we will all have to move to Yahoo eventually or change your email address and find a new carrier. There us o getting around or out of it, I am so sick of all the rumors that this is not really going to happen. I hate it like everybody else but when reality strikes..!

@Latoque thank you for this. Quite disappointing… It is in no way, shape or form and upgrade. It is causing me an inordinate amount of extra time to try to manage my communication/life right now. When I try to scroll in the app or on their website, you can’t go more than two or three messages. There’s no way to scroll down several messages or past a few days. I was trying to find something today that was very important and every time I got close to it it would go back to the top. It is not a professional way to communicate. And as I have mentioned before, I am not able to send from my Apple Mail on either my iPhone or my laptop. When I asked yahoo for help with this they sent me to Xfinity and Xfinity sent me to yahoo. They could care less about their customers. They’re more interested in the extra money that they are making that I am sure Yahoo is paying them for all these extra customers…

Sadly, the Email Migration article which should have become clearer over time has become fuzzier and fuzzier as far as "what happens if I don't migrate" is concerned:

If I don’t want to move to Yahoo Mail, what are my options?
If you don’t want to move your Comcast.net email account to Yahoo Mail, you can choose to download or export your email data or simply close your account. However, if you do not transfer your account to Yahoo Mail, you will lose your Comcast.net email address, your email account will be closed, and email data will eventually be deleted.

Do I have to upgrade my comcast.net email account to Yahoo Mail?
No, this is an upgrade we are offering customers at no cost so they can access their email on a better platform with enhanced security, more features, and a mobile app for easy access on the go. However, if you do not upgrade, eventually you will lose access to your comcast.net email account

Worst Email ever, and I've tried a few. Search function for new or old emails for reference with one spelling mistake that you would think was an easy fix by the supposed ai being involved and the reply nothing found. I mean come on people spell check isn't a new addition to technology. Just tell Yahoo your not good enough give us back our COMCAST EMAIL. Im sure there was a lot of money exchanged for this to occur in the first place and now all the information that was pretty much behind a new and improved fire wall was secure. But! Yep that But came into play when the higher ups said oh look more money and possible raises for the share holder and officers. Forget about the pee on's who work day and night to make ends meet. Just my opinion but I think I still have that right.  Right. Right, Right. !!!Crickets!!!
