I'm getting the same thing. I googled this and it looks like it's an ongoing problem since 2020. All the comments I read were Xfinity pushing the blame to Microsoft and Apple. I'm not techy so I'm lost.

I'm getting this message too when I attempt to reply to an email. "The certificate for domain 'smtp.comcast.net' is untrusted."

Same here, cannot sent mail to ANYONE, even myself.

Gotta love xfinity breaking their email system.  It just keeps getting worse and worse... been obvious they've been tinkering with things lately since the formatting and display has changed and gone back to normal, but not can't send anything

I'm getting this message whenever I try to send an email.  I DID successfully send a few emails earlier this morning before this started to occur.  Seems like there are no responses for how to handle this though.....

I had the same issue and changed my password. Now, it works fine. Not sure why the PW has anything to do with the message. Also, needed to change PW on iphone. All is fine now.

I'm using Safari so don't think it's browser-related

This message, when received when using webmail, means that Comcast has allowed one of their certificates to expire. Their IT department is asleep at the switch.

I am technically challenged and this email wonky is a nightmare to me - so how does this forum work - we have to wait until comcast admits this is a problem and then . . . what? they post in the forum?

@confused2019 Yes, we have to wait until Comcast fixes this problem because it's definitely on their end. Webmail should even involve SMTP. That's for desktop clients to send mail to servers. Webmail means it's a server-to-server issue and, thus, all an internal Comcast issue. They may or may not post here when it's resolved. They may not even follow these forums so these posts may not even reach them. The real way to reach them is via chat, but you'll only speak to front-line low-level techies that don't have a clue about how the systems work; they only have their cookbooks in front of them and they'll not have a script that deals with this. Maybe I'm too cynical and they will see these reports, say "oops!" fix it and let us know. It's more likely they'll notice it themselves, fix it, and it will just start working again, but who knows how long that will take?

@confused2019 It should work now. At least it does for me. I refreshed my xfinity email page before I tried sending or replying to email. If you are still having trouble, I know others have called the help desk to get resolution to this problem that we are all having.

Same - cannot send email. Have tried multiple browsers.

Ask Xfinity is no help. No way to directly contact IT department?

Is this message board getting through to Comcast? Do they know there is a problem sending emails? "The certificate for domain 'smtp.comcast.net' is untrusted."

@MargaretR104 I think they fixed it. I was able to send email now.

I did speak to a rep after waiting 20 minutes , so they are aware of the problem now!  She initially said I didn't appear to have a robust connection at the time of our conversation, but I couldn't replicate my problem for further discussion!  Here's the customer service # 800-934-6489.  I had to ask for "agent" with the automated menu and it took a few go-rounds with the automaton before it finally relented and put me in a 25 minute queue.
