Syncing folder changes between Outlook and Xfinity Connect

I do not work with (read or organize) mail using the Xfinity Connect environment.  I work with my emails using Outlook 2016 on my computer and also using the mail ap on my Iphone.  It is important for me that email organization in Outlook is synched with Xfinity, because it is Xfinity that synchs to my phone.

Yes everything in Outlook is set up in Imap.

When I create subfolders in outlook to organize my mail, the folder successfully appears in Xfinity Connect.  But if I RENAME that folder in Outlook, the renaming is not reflected in Xfinity Connect and the emails that I moved to the renamed folder do not appear in the folder with the old name on Xfinity Connect.  Renaming the folder in Outlook to the original folder name name fixed that problem.

I have similar issues with moving folders into other folders - changes do not get reflected in Xfinity.

Is it possible to successfully change the name of a folder in outlook and have it reflected on Xfinity Connect?  Is it possible to move folders into other folders in Outlook and have it sync to Xfinity Connect?  I would like to know if there is a correct way to do this, or whether I need to consider this as a permanent limitation.  Thanks for any instruction.

@LisaPerkins

I responded to your other post, but I'm also going to ask....is your Outlook configured with IMAP or POP3?

Thanks for your great questions about using Xfinity email and Outlook. This article explains the difference between the IMAP and POP settings. IMAP will keep your emails synchronized across devices. This article shows how to configure Outlook 365 for Xfinity email. If you have a different version of Outlook let me know and I will get different instructions. I am also seeing some help from Microsoft that shows to ensure your files are set up for IMAP in the Outlook settings. Please let us know if this fixes the problem or if you have additional questions. We are happy to help.

Hello @jf219! This is never the feeling we want you to have. We're happy to help. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?

 "Search for Xfinity Support" won't work. To send a "Direct Messaging" message to Xfinity Support:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary

  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

  • - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

I no longer work for Comcast.

I have dealt with this issue for a while and it is very frustrating.  Yes....account setup as IMAP.  I am experiencing all of the problems as the users on this thread.  If you rename or move subfolders within Outlook, it does not synch properly to Xfinity email...which then makes phone out of synch.   I have tried repairing the account withing Outlook, etc with no luck.  I do not want to remove and re-add the account in Outlook because that is the version of my changes that I would like to keep.

Please let me know if there is a solution to this problem. Thanks!
