Problem solved !!  I deleted Edison as my tablet email handler.  Additionally, I empty my Trash Folder daily to monitor the situation.

Thank you,

I'm not support, just a user.  Often Comcast's software will mistake a legitimate message for spam or vice versa.  You just need to keep an eye on the trash/junk/etc. folder.

Hello @louinma, and thank you for reaching out to us about emails from friends going directly to trash. Have you had a chance to check the email/spam filter settings to see if there is any reason there that they are going directly to trash?

That's the first place that I looked.

Thank you for checking that for me. Do any of the emails have anything in common that are going into the trash like attachments, same wording for email titles, or same email domain like all coming from Yahoo emails?

@XfinityEricB I don't see any common issues.  Some messages are short one or two sentences others have one recipient others a distribution of 15 to 20.

Thanks for your support

We appreciate your help and are glad you contacted us so we can get to the bottom of this issue, @louinma. Can you please check your email settings to ensure the Email Safe List is turned off?

Advanced Settings, Email Safe List, The Box "use email safe list" is not "checked".

@louinma Thank you for checking that. Are you experiencing this issue at https://comca.st/3L2lreU and/or using a third party app?

Some emails from friends in my address book are directed to my Trash folder. ...

Comcast's webmail only delivers incoming mail to the Inbox or Spam folders, so new mail would only appear in the Trash folder if:

  • An email filter at (gear icon) / Email Settings / Mail / Filter Rules was set to "Discard" or "Move to folder Trash", or
  • A third party email program or app using IMAP contained a similar rule, or
  • The mail was put there manually

I am having the same problem where my some of my emails are going to trash.  the emails have nothing in common.  I have NO email Filters set up.  I am using any third party app.  I am logging into Xfinity email directly.  Email safe list is NOT checked.

Hello! Thanks for letting us know you have been having this issue with your email. I can see how that would be frustrating to have important emails misdirected to a trash folder. Are you able to go back into the Safe Email list and add the emails you do want to receive?

Beginning yesterday, all incoming e-mail is going directly to a folder named 'Deleted items - trash (to be permanently deleted )' instead of to the Inbox.  I made no changes to the settings or rules.  I have used the same settings/rules for years.  The Deleted items - trash (to be permanently deleted )' folder is a folder I set up to temporarily hold items I intend to delete after a period of time.  I use Outlook 365.  Can you explain or fix this?

@user_52ab7e Hello! Sorry to learn about the email troubles. Please send us a private message with your full name and service address.

To send the requested information in a private message to Xfinity Support from any Forum page:

  •    Click "Sign In" if that prompt is visible
  •    Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3ABtJIK
  •    Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  •   The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person", but don't do that.
  •       Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there. As you are typing a drop-down list appears.
  •   Select "Xfinity Support" from the list. An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
  •   Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  •   Press Enter or tap the >icon to send it
