reached email sending limit in error 550 - 550 5.1.0

Today while trying to send emails for work I keep getting an error message saying I have reached my sending limit. I have checked my "sent" folder and there aren't hundreds of emails sent so I don't think my account has been sending out spam.

Has anyone else been having this issue? Anyone know a fix besides just waiting and hoping its fixed for tomorrow?

I'm having this same problem hit-or-miss starting yesterday. I'm not sending excessive numbers of emails, and sometimes I can send through the server fine. I'm receiving mail ok as well. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Using MAIL app in Mac OS 15 Sequoia. How to get direct phone support from Xfinity for this?

I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with sending emails. Reaching a sending limit can happen for a few reasons, even if your “Sent” folder doesn’t show unusual activity.

Here’s what you can try:

  1. Email Sending Limits: Xfinity enforces sending limits to prevent spam. If you’ve sent several emails recently (especially with large attachments), you may have hit that limit temporarily.

  2. Clear Outbox and Drafts: Sometimes, stuck emails in your outbox can repeatedly try sending, triggering the limit.

Let me know if you need further assistance!
