Problem with sending Comcast mail

Comcast stopped me from sending five tiny emails today. They said the problem was error code 17099 and directed me to the xfinity page at “Sending limits and blocked file extensions of your Comcast Email”.  The page listed a number of reasons why comcast refused to send my email: too many recipients; too many emails per day; maximum size. None of these applied to my emails. They were the first emails I had sent today. They were tiny (one attachment with 30 kb of data). They were to single recipients. I can only assume that someone else is using my comcast email address. Please advise...

Note: I successfully sent all these emails using my gmail address.

Hey @bobbo69 , Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience regarding your email. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance looking into this further for you. When sending the email are you using the web portal or a 3rd party mail client? Are you able to send without an attachment? Here is a bit of information for limitations on email. Please check out Sending limits and blocked file extensions of your Comcast Email and File types not supported in email — Xfinity Email help

I sent the emails through Microsoft Outlook consumer 365. As I said, I successfully sent these very emails using my gmail address. And just a few minutes ago I sent an email with an attached file from my comcast address to my gmail address with no problem.

So maybe this was just some temporary Comcast glitch.

My worry is that someone else is using my email address and sending out thousands of emails a day with me not knowing anything about it.

It may have been a glitch, I would keep an eye on it and see if it continues to happen. If it does continue, we would recommend reaching out to the customer security team at 1-800-Xfinity to check on that very understandable concern you have.
