Printing emails starts with blank page

Printing emails from xfinity website has 1st page that is almost completely blank (it has header and footer showing sender, date, etc.) but email doesn't start printing until page 2.

Using chrome on Windows but also happens on Edge browser.  Tested on 2nd pc in chrome and same results.  Using Safari or Firefox on Mac has printing working fine.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to us here with this concern, since the pages print properly on the MAC computer while using Chrome and Firefox then I can say that this is not an issue with the website but there seems to be an issue with your settings. You may want to adjust your browser settings or the printer settings to be able to print without the blank page.

@XfinityAmir I don't think we can rule out the problem is not with xfinity website.  Behavior is same on 2 different PCs with 2 browsers.

@sfmitch I understand where you're coming from, and we appreciate your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve our products and service. In the meantime, I'd suggest checking the settings on the printer and browsers.

@XfinityAmir I do not see "File/Print" in my chrome browser.  Under three dots in upper right hand corner of browser, there is "Print" and "More Settings" and under that is "Paper Size" "Pages per Sheet" "Margins" "Scale" and "Options" (of which there is a header box that I have tried checking and unchecking and it makes no difference).  I am a lawyer and CPA and not a tech wizard.

If you scroll ALL the way down to the bottom you should see Print using system dialog...)Ctrl+Shift+P}.  Click on that and it should bring up the system dialog for printing.  Try using that.  If that doesn't work go back to the original dialog box and choose Pages/Custom and print and choose what pages you want printed.  The Preview box on the left will show you just the pages you want to print and what they should look like.  After seeing the print preview if you want you can go back to the system dialog and print only the pages you want.

It seems to be ok if I print from the upper left corner three dots option as opposed to the printer icon on the email header...

@user_8c5b24 sounds like you are talking about shortcut to Control+P (I don't see 3 dots in upper left) which does print properly, so thank you!

See attached.

I also have the same issue.  I believe it is an Xfinity website issue.  I remember I had this happen a few years ago and Xfinity helped...just can't remember how to correct it!! Has this been resolved by anyone?

This is not resolved.  When you go to print emails, it puts an extra 1st page with only a header - the rest of the page is blank.  Big waste of paper and physical paper file space.

Once again, have you tried File/Print?  If you scroll down under more settings, you should be given the opportunity to use the original File/Print dialogue.

@Again File/Print? I'm assuming you are referring to the ctrl+p command? Yes, same results.

In Chrome, you should be able to see the all of the pages in preview, so if the first page is showing blank you obviously don't want to print that page.  If page 2 shows the beginning of the email, that's where you'd want to start to print, however, if it shows headers, nope, don't start there UNLESS the email starts within that same page but most likely you're going to start with page 2.    So, on the right hand side, you should see

so by Pages you would click on the down arrow and choose Custom so that you can put in only the pages you would want to print.

Yeah but then it shows for example page 2 of 4 and looks like page 1 is missing.  That is what I have been doing but its a pain. Even if its a one page email, it shows 2 pages and you just print what is reflected as page 2 of 2.   This just started a couple months ago.  Never used to be like this.  I have used comcast email forever - since email began, and it never used to be like this.

Does it happen with another browser like Edge or Firefox?

TBH, Chrome has never "played well" with webmail.

@Again Yes, selecting the custom option and omitting page 1 is an option, but sometimes in a rush you will forget to do that. That should NOT be a requirement. AGAIN, this is an issue with comcast webmail formatting!! To say that chrome doesn't "play well" with webmail is a ridiculous statement and frankly those type of statements, like saying something is a "coincidence" is usually made by some one that either just doesn't have the answer and/or is to lazy to figure it out (assuming that you are a person working in the tech sector). In addition, comcast webmail has been "playing" well with chrome for quite sometime now and this has only happened recently.

I have the exact same problem.  About two months ago emails started printing with just the header on page one.  It does it in desktop Chrome and Edge.  What is the fix?

It does print correctly in Firefox.  But I don't use Firefox as my browser.  I use Chrome.  Usage share of Chrome is 65% and Firefox is 3%.  I would think your email program would be compatible with the most popular browser in the world.

More input...this issue happens when using Chrome or Edge on my Windows 10 desktop computer *and* my old Windows 7 desktop computer.  (Oddly, it doesn't happen on my Chromebook.)  It started about the time that Xfinity redesigned their email login page.

As others  have commented, this problem started about 2 months ago.  Seems to be an Xfinity problem.

If you use the 3 dots in the top right corner OR use File/Print, only the page on the screen is printed...not the whole email.  Starting printing with page 2 omits the date of the email, which I need.

Xfinity, PLEASE look into this.

The last post was right on. I have used Xfinity and Chrome for years and this problem only started a few months ago. Adjusting the file/print menus on every email is not a reasonable option. Besides, like above user I need to document the sender, date and time on the email to generate a clean trail. Why can't Xfinity admit this problem and generate a fix? I have been over every option in every menu available to the normal user and there are not selections that would be global, rather than one-by-one fixes for this problem.

Printing with an almost blank first page *only happens* with Xfinity emails!  Everything else on the web prints correctly.  There's been no input here on the problem for two weeks.  Can someone suggest a person or department to direct this issue to so that it can be fixed?

All of a sudden (yesterday) it started printing correctly.  It seems to me that there was some coding bug somewhere that was putting in a page break that was causing it to jump to the next page after printing just one line on the first page.  Oddly, it seemed to print correctly right after a Windows 10 update.  Hmmm.  Anyway, thank you to whomever at Xfinity, Google, or Microsoft fixed it.

It would seem to me, then, to have been a problem with Microsoft and not Comcast.  😉

THANK YOU for letting us know the problem was corrected!  When I tried to update Windows 10 to see if that was my problem, I saw that I already had the current update.  Anyway, the problem HAS been corrected for me, too.  Thank you Xfinity or Microsoft
