PHOTOS NOT DISPLAYING IN COMCAST EMAILS

Photos sent to me in an email, to my comcast.net email address, do not display.   The photos are all being sent from known, trusted sources.  Even if send myself an email the photos will not display.

It does not matter whether I use my main web browser (Chrome)  or alternate web browsers  (Internet Explorer, Firefox).

It does not matter whether I am on my PC, my phone or my tablet --- the exact same problem occurs.

I searched this forum and I see that many others have asked the same question,  but no one has ever answered the question.

Are these photos supposed to be inline or as attachments?  I just sent myself a photo inline from a non-@comcast.net account and it shows up both inline and as an attachment.  Then I just sent myself a photo from my @comcast.net account and it does not show up inline nor is there a way to see it using View, but it says I can download it.  Clicking on 1 attachment shows a thumbnail, but again doesn't let me see a preview but also offers me to download it.  Both photos I sent, were well under 6MB so that can't factor in.

Are you able to see photos inline from a source other than @comcast.net?

Re your question,  the photos are coming in as attachments to emails.

And is does not matter if the emails are sent from a comcast.net address,  a g-mail address, or any other email provider.  The photos are not displayed in all incoming emails.   (I have no problems at all with photos coming in as attachments to emails to my g-mail address.  But I use Comcast as my primary email program, and I prefer to keep it that way.)

I get the same message you got about downloading the images, but I don't want to do that for the large number of emails I receive with important photos every month.  I want the pictures to display as an attachment to the email,  so I can store the email and photos long term in an appropriate Comcast email sub-folder, so I can find them months (or years) later when I need them.

I totally understand what you're saying.  And totally understand using webmail; it's convenient and can be accessed from any device.  I don't know why some images don't show up, though.  I use Thunderbird for both my @comcast.net and @gmail.com emails and about the only time I use webmail is to check on something when others here are having problems.

I honestly don't understand why one of the photos I sent myself from Gmail in Thunderbird showed up but when I sent myself one from Comcast in Thunderbird didn't.  I wish I could explain it.  Maybe one of the OE's here will chime in on this.  Both, however, showed up in Thunderbird.

I suggest looking into Thunderbird using IMAP where the folders should show up and populate for you.  It would be worth it as a back up because you get only 10GB of storage on the website.
