Not receiving some Comcast email?

I recently had a bank send me an email to my Comcast email that I didn't receive in either of my email programs. It wasn't in either of the program's junk or deleted folders, so I knew it had to be an issue with Comcast. During troubleshooting with them, they asked if it came to my online email. What? I have never tried or knew you could access your Comcast email online through your Xfinity account. I always download it to my computers/devices through various email programs. In any case, the email I was looking for wasn't in the Xfinity online email Inbox, but it was in their "Spam" folder, along with several other emails that I would have wanted to receive. Apparently, since their folder is named "Spam" and mine are named "Junk email", they don't sync. So, whatever their filters deem to be spam never makes it to my computer's Junk folder. Since I don't access my email online through Xfinity, I don't want them to prefilter my email. I'll do that with my programs.

So, if you use Comcast email and want to check this, log into Xfinity, select the upper right Account icon, then "Check email". If there is email in your Spam folder that you don't want them to filter, you can change it this way: Select the upper right Settings icon, then Email settings. On the left panel that appears, under Mail, select Advanced Settings, then Spam Filtering. Change it to: "Override Security Filters- Allow Spam and potentially harmful messages in your inbox". Although this may sound ominous, you are just turning off their filtering and allowing your own email program to use its own. Hope this helps Comcast email users find their lost email.

@user_6f8fb8 You can also add the sender to your Address Book, which will push it to your inbox.  This is a safer option than overriding all of the spam filters.

@XfinityAlex Or you could more easily add them to your safe sender list, neither of which solves the problem. These are after the fact solutions for senders you find in your spam/junk folders, not a preventive solution for all those unknown senders that may unwantedly get blocked. Also, turning off all the Comcast spam filters and using your own email program's filters is NOT a less safe option, and you shouldn't be misleading readers otherwise.

@user_6f8fb8, thanks for sharing that, and we appreciate your feedback. Are all emails coming through ok now?

I no longer work for Comcast.

Yes they are, because I turned off your filters. I was just trying to alert everyone else who might not be receiving all of their emails that this might be causing it.
