My Email Filter Rules have disappeared

Hello.   I had a number of Filter Rules set up for my email account at your website.   Within the last 1-2 days, they have all disappeared.   I haven't made any recent changes.  I would appreciate your help getting them restored.    I've added the rules over time, and I don't have any other easy way to recreate them.  Thank you

@XfinityDaveL They have re-appeared.  Thank you for your help.   Can you provide any further insight into what happened?   Is there any way I can export a backup of the Filter Rules?

@XfinityDaveL This same thing happened to me. Sometime between Monday 9/11 and Tuesday, 9/12 all of my filters vanished. I had HUNDREDS of them. I set those up after this happened to me 2 years ago. I have been on the phone for hours, from tech support to corporate. They kept telling me they can’t access my e-mails or get my filters back. Like the first time, they insinuated it was “user error.” Well, I have worked on computers and done IT for 40 years. I did not go into my e-mail from Sunday to Wednesday and I didn’t manually delete my emails. My e-mails and filters are not stored on my computer. They are on Xfinity’s servers. Two people I spoke to actually told me they never heard of this happening to anyone. I came to these forums and immediately found out that isn’t true. I told them the servers must have been rebooted or something like that. Their only recommendation was to “reconstruct” the filters. Just like last time. I would also be very interested to know how I can back these up because the first time it took me weeks to reconstruct my filters and I have since added on. Today I had 500 e-mails in my inbox when I would only get 10 to 15 with my filters in place.

@XfinityDaveL  Following up on my questions around why the rules disappeared and how I can backup my current set of rules.   Thank you.

Same this just happened to me.  They are all gone.  Did they just reappear, or did the rep do something to make them repopulate?  Did you get an answer about why and how to backup?

On your inbox page, go to your Settings (gear icon) on the upper right. The first listing under that is “Email Settings.” Click on that and you will open a new page. Scroll down to filter settings. What I did was make various folders like “Discards.” Any time I got an e-mail I didn’t want I would copy the sender’s address and open my folder. I will then see a list on the right of Conditions - I usually select “Sender,” then paste the address on that line. Use as little of the address as possible in case they send from other addresses. For instance, “ [Edited: "Personal Information"]anization.com” would be “organization.com”.

This will not help with malicious e-mails. They usually send from some garbage address that changes all the time. What I am filtering is just numerous political, charity and retail emails, among others. I also use the filters to have things like newsetters go directly to a dedicated folder, bypassing my inbox. That keeps my inbox more unclutterd.

Forgot to mention - once you have pasted your e-mail you have to specify an Action, like “Discard” or “Move to __ folder”.

Don’t know why my post was edited. There was no “personal information.” Just be sure to only use what comes after the @ sign.
