Maxed 10GB mailbox. Can I export my entire @comcast.net mailbox (Use Outlook with .pst files for example?) If so, how to do this?

I Maxed out mailbox currently at 10GB. Can I export my entire @comcast.net mailbox (Use Outlook with .pst files for example?) If so, how to do this?

Or export part of it - if effect to quickly reduce my mailbox size.

It is not feasible  to continually be bumping up against my 10GB email limit.

(I like benefit of using IMAP - I believe using IMAP allows me to access my mail on multiple devices. But then the email accumulates on Comcast servers. Please correct my understand if incorrect. )

I like having the convenience and access to last 2 years or so of email (using IMAP.)

But I'd like to download / archive my older email - offline. And remove that email from Comcast servers.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance, D

Hi Thanks for the reply.

My question seems to only be partially answered.

The link (contained in reply above,) showed reply from "Again" (person who is indicated as being an expert)

The answer was following:

"5. Use an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird and download your email to it.  It resides on your computer and not on the web."

But how do I use Outlook and "... and download your email to it...." ??

Please send link to instructions on how to export Xfinity / Comcast so I can use with MS Outlook.

Thank you in advance,

I do not see a reply to my 2nd question submitted above (on Jan 11.) If I missed seeing the reply, my apologies in advance. But I do not believe it was answered.

How to export my entire 10 GB mailbox, and remove from Xfinity Comcast email servers, and store my exported mail locally - possibly by using MS Outlook, or other local mail client software. Is there a link to site that describes how to do this with step-by-step instructions?

Thank you in advance.

Hello @dappleg883! I can definitely understand wanting to keep your emails for as long as possible. I have a link here that explains how to configure your Comcast email with Outlook, however it sounds like you're looking for a way to export your emails entirely. Do you have another email account that you would be exporting them to, for example a gmail account?

I no longer work for Comcast.
