I would hope that Xfinity would never send an email using a generic URL shortener like that, because I never click on such links.

The "validate" link leads to a scammer phishing site. "Update" emails that have any sort of "click here or lose your access" demand are almost always scams.
Do not click!
Check email that claims to be from Comcast/Xfinity with their Connect webmail (https://connect.xfinity.com/) and look for the XFINITY Verified Email logo. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/comcast-verified-email for examples of valid logo placement. A logo in the body of the email does not count.
Unfortunately, AFAIK the logo is not present when you view one of their messages in an email app or program. It's only visible when you use their web email site, and only for email sent to a Comcast.net address.
To report a scam email follow the instructions under the "How do I report phishing email sent to or from a Comcast.net email account?" heading on https://spa.xfinity.com/help/email-abuse?faq=spam-email.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to Xfinity Support @Hogiemi2! We are so glad to hear from you and want to assist in any way that we can. How often do you receive emails like this? If you receive emails like this on a regular basis you are going to want to reach out to our Customer Security Assurance Team.
The CSA team ensures customers have a safe online experience. They handle issues like phishing, spam, infected computers (often called bots), online fraud (like hacked accounts) and other security issues similar to this. By following this link, https://spa.xfinity.com/help, you can report this issue and open a case with the team to have this taken care of.

And that's true. But the email fragment you posted doesn't event mention Yahoo, so it's already suspect.
I don't know what the actual "invite and accept terms" email will look like as I have not yet received one and Comcast/Xfinity has not provided an example, but I did get this "heads up!" email:
It went on to say:
* This messaged was dated and received on 8/21/2025, so the followup email is a bit overdue.
